A lady’s account of why her neighbour’s girlfriend reported him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has gone viral online.
The lady, @freakinsnow on X (formerly Twitter), praised her neighbour’s character, describing him as a reserved and respectful man. She shared that if there was a fault in the compound, the male neighbour would fix it without asking for repayment.
However, things took a turn when the neighbour reportedly had issues with his girlfriend, who then reported him to the EFCC.
According to @freakinsnow, the commission raided his apartment and uncovered that he was involved in online fraud, commonly known as “Yahoo.”
“According to them, he’s made over $20 million while keeping a low profile. They confiscated his house in the village, car and gadgets,” she narrated.
Reactions on X
Sam Boy: “She got mad and snitched. And she thinks it ends there.”
Keymar: “See this is why you can’t be committing crimes around people because they get mad and turn you in! DO CRIMES ALONE.”
One Truema: “Snitches should always get stitches, he should teach her a lesson when he gets out.”
Balo Debby Store: “Reporting him might’ve felt harsh personally, but in the bigger picture, it stopped him from potentially hurting more people financially and legally. It’s a tough call emotionally, but ethically? I’d say she acted right.”
The incident has sparked heated debates online about morality, relationships, and the risks of engaging in financial crimes.
