In a viral video, customers of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) are seen cooking and eating noodles while waiting in line to withdraw money from one of the bank’s branches in Aba, Abia State.

They made noodles while other residents waited in line at the bank’s automated teller machines, which four men could be seen eating in turns.

The Central Bank of Nigeria set February 10 as the new deadline for the exchange of old naira notes, after originally setting January 31 as the deadline.

Meanwhile,it was previously reported that the Nigerian government’s plan to phase out old naira notes on February 10, 2023 was temporarily halted by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

This was stated in a ruling issued by a seven-member panel led by Justice John Okoro in response to an ex parte application filed by three northern states: Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara.

Many Nigerians are currently unable to obtain the new N200, N500, and N1,000 notes, causing scarcity and suffering throughout the country.
