The renowned Nigerian musician Paul Okoye, better known by his stage name Rudeboy, has revealed how his twin brother Peter Okoye arrested him with the EFCC.
Rudeboy made this disclosure recently during an interview with City105.5FM.
He disclosed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arrested him in December at the request of his twin brother, Peter Okoye.
Rudeboy said that his brother seemed to disapprove of his lifestyle, which was the main reason for the arrest.
Rudeboy described being faced with a 20-year prison sentence, which left him perplexed and wondering, “What did I do?”
He claimed that his brother’s petition resulted in his detention, and his account statements were printed out during the investigation.
Rudeboy said he was relieved not to be a part of any fraud, since that would have been disastrous for him.
Paul Okoye added that at a family meeting that took place about a month ago, Rudeboy was exonerated by EFCC officials of all charges.
Peter Okoye refused to say sorry for what he had done, even after being declared innocent. Rudeboy explained the charges to their different lives, claiming that he is a businessman who saves money while his brother spends recklessly.
The EFCC investigation indicated that Peter Okoye misappropriated Rudeboy’s funds for personal purchases dating back to 2006/2007.
