Aisha Lawal, a Muslim woman, has taken to her page to teach Muslim women how to understand their roles in a Muslim man’s life.
While offering the advice, the woman said that Muslim men do not post images of the woman they wish to marry on social media like other men do.
Muslim men who are in love with their wives do not share them online, she said. She went on to say that a Hausa man is not the chosen one if he consistently posts pictures of his women.
In a Facebook post, she wrote;
“AREWA men don’t flaunt the pictures of the women they want to marry on social media. So if you dey date any Hausa guy, he always posts your photos and videos for the world to see. I am sorry to break your heart sis. You are NOT the CHOSEN ONE. Even me sef no go ever post my boo for social media until he officially becomes MINE in shaa Allah”.
As the post circulated online, it attracted numerous reactions, with concerned individuals flooding the comment section to express their thoughts
See some REACTIONS below:
EM Muszty: Even when you are mine, there is no way i will slightly post ur pics for the world to see because to me it feels like am degrading ur standard. You are far way so precious to be call public prop. Haba dai
Isah Abdulkadir: True. I know a good number of friends who have never posted their partners until they gave married. In fact you won’t even see or know their face at all. Majority of people don’t post here.
Abubakar Sadiq Muhammed: That’s an interesting perspective! I totally get where you’re coming from. I agree that keeping things more private can be special.
Tijani ibn Aliyu: Why are you people always trying so hard to generalize a simple individualistic opinion like everybody in Arewa behaves thesame way! It’s simple poor justification of a heterogeneous society but unfortunately stories like this suit a narrative of people that want to show up on the cold to punish everyone because their own experience didn’t go as plan. Arewa men are not thesame if you chose you man based on the qualities you like hold am responsible for him action no come dey transfer blame to all of us 🤷
