A mother has sparked emotional reactions online after sharing a terrifying incident involving her 4-year-old son, who reportedly swallowed a car key and was rushed to the hospital. The story, shared on X by Tope Orus, has left many in awe of what she described as a “miracle.”
The Incident
According to the mother:
Her son, Daniel, was playing around the house with his father’s car keys while her husband was away for a meeting.
She briefly turned away to check food on the stove and returned to find one of the keys missing.
Moments later, Daniel began struggling to breathe. She ran outside for help, and a neighbor rushed them to the hospital.
Hospital Drama
At the hospital:
An X-ray confirmed that the key was lodged deep in Daniel’s throat.
Doctors warned that manual removal could cause serious damage due to the key’s sharp edges and advised immediate surgery.
The mother, overwhelmed with fear and financial concerns, prayed desperately and asked the medical team to attempt a non-surgical removal first.
The Miraculous Outcome
Using a suction tool, the medical team attempted one last non-surgical method.
Daniel coughed violently, and the key was expelled from his throat, shocking both the mother and the hospital staff.
The mother described the moment as miraculous, saying even the medical team admitted it was unexpected.

“This morning, my 4 year old son Daniel was just here, very healthy & playing with my husband’s car keys… Suddenly, I heard a ‘gulp.’ Daniel was clutching his chest, unable to breathe.
…The doctor said, ‘Madam, the key has sharp edges. If we pull it, it will tear his throat. We must do surgery right now.’
I ran to the hospital chapel, fell on my knees, and cried to God… As the doctor put the tool in his throat, Daniel let out a loud, violent cough. CLINK! The heavy car key flew out of his mouth and hit the metal tray!
I am back home now, holding my baby. God turned my crying into dancing!”
