A Nigerian model has raised an alarm after falling victim to a serial scammer who lured her with a fake modelling job and stole her phone.
She described the incident in a series of posts on her TikTok page, where she claimed that the alleged “client” had approached her with the intention of hiring her for a modeling job.
According to the model, she was initially contacted about the opportunity by a friend who said that someone was in need of a model.
She consented to meet with the purported client, who then took her from store to store to get ready for the alleged job, including taking pictures and applying makeup.
As she was applying makeup, the man said his phone was dead and asked to use hers to make a call back. He took her phone, went outside to make the call, and never came back.
She said, “He collected my phone to call back the person who called him, he stepped outside to make a call and left with my phone.”
She later learned, much to her surprise, that he had compromised her account and taken her money.
The model added that this same scammer had earlier tricked her friend in a similar way, using her friend’s stolen phone to contact her with the fake job offer.
The disturbing revelation sparked reactions online, with many warning others—especially models and freelancers—to be cautious and verify opportunities thoroughly before meeting strangers.
