Mixed reactions trail Nollywood’s ‘Verydarkblackman’ movie

Nigerians have responded to the trailer for a Nollywood film based on the controversial activist Verydarkman in a variety of ways on social media.

Gentle Jack, a seasoned Nollywood actor, played the vocal activist in the film Very Dark Blackman. The film, which was produced by Anaele Ugochukwu Dominic, has generated a lot of discussion on the internet. Many people have described it as surprising, funny, and even disgusting.

Verydarkman, whose true name is still mostly unknown, gained notoriety in Nigeria for his outspoken criticism of unregistered skincare products.

The release of Verydarkblackman movie has drawn criticism from several social media users, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where opinions have been sharply divided.
