Michael Jordan, a Hollywood actor, has purchased a stake in a top English club

Michael B Jordan, a Hollywood actor, has joined the new ownership group of Bournemouth, an English Premier League (EPL) club in the United Kingdom.

The club announced this in a statement announcing Bill Foley, a billionaire businessman from the United States, as its new owner. Jordan is one of the club’s minority shareholders, according to the statement.

It went on to say that the ‘Black Panther’ actor will collaborate with Foley “in areas such as global marketing and club internationalization.”

“The minority ownership group is led by award-winning actor, director and producer Michael B Jordan and Nullah Sarker (The players Tribune, Davis Cup). AFC Bournemouth is Michael’s first foray into professional sports ownership,” the statement reads.

Foley acquired the club from Maxium Demin, who sold his 100 percent stake to Black Knight Football Club, which the US billionaire businessman is the managing general partner.

The statement said, “Foley and his partners are committed to providing the investment to sustain and build upon AFC Bournemouth’s recent accomplishments, which include returning to the Premier League in 2022/23, where the Cherries have spent six of the last eight seasons”.

Bournemouth is currently 14th in the Premier League table. Last season, the club was promoted from the second-tier championship to the EPL.
