“Men go through a lot,” – Man argues for husband who strangled his pregnant wife to death for opening the gate too late in Anambra

According to Ikpeazu Chinedu Bright, a Facebook user, the husband probably had no idea that grabbing his wife’s neck would kill her.

On Facebook, a married man sparked mixed reactions after pleading his case for the man who strangled his pregnant wife to death in Anambra.

Ikechukwu Obiora made headlines yesterday after killing his wife for failing to open the gate for him when he returned home.

The man married his wife, Ebere Uzuegbunam, in August of last year and strangled her to death seven months later, on March 2, 2023. He confessed to the crime after he was summoned by his in-laws to explain what killed their daughter.

“I returned home in the morning of March 2, 2023, and was knocking at the gate, but my wife did not open the gate immediately. In that anger, I started shouting at her. I first slapped and hit her from the gate to the house before angrily grabbing her by the neck and strangling her,” the suspect said.

In response to the news, a Facebook user named Ikpeazu Chinedu Bright stated that the husband most likely had no idea that grabbing his wife’s neck would kill her.

Chinedu went on to say that women should be counseled to stay focused in their marriages so that their husbands do not physically assault them out of rage.

Using his own marriage as an example, he explained how his wife spends too much time on her phone and does not cook on time, which irritates him at times.

He stated that if he ever loses his temper and beats her up, he will be labeled a beast, despite the fact that his wife instigated the attack.

“Men go through a lot,” he said at the end.
