Conversations surfacing after the arrest of Ayomide Adeleye, an OOU undergraduate, showed him pretending not to know where Idowu Christianah was, even though he had killed her.
Ayomide abducted Christianah, a 300-level student at FUNAAB, and killed her in cold blood. Her tragic death has not stopped provoking outrage on social media.
In conversations that came to light after his arrest, he spoke of his “genuine concerns and high hopes” for the victim’s return. The friend on the other end of the chat confirmed that a ransom was being raised when the suspect questioned further about Christianah’s circumstances.
In a different conversation thread, he voiced worries about other people’s safety and advised the other participants to watch out for one another and stroll in groups.
