Man stabs caretaker, accuses him of wizardry

A man who goes by Nnanna allegedly stabbed Mr. Monday, his 65-year-old caretaker, after accusing him of using magic.

The event took place on Wednesday at 37 Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu, in the Rivers State local government area of Port Harcourt City.

After accusing the victim of being responsible for his misfortunes, the suspect stabbed him on the head and neck, according to the information obtained.

However, after allegedly committing the crime, Nana ran away and is now missing.

Reuben who was still in pain said the suspect had picked up a bottle, smashed it and stabbed him Tuesday night and later returned yesterday and stabbed him on the head.

He narrated, “I am the caretaker of 37, Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu. Nnanna stabbed me. We were packing sand and I called him to shift one side that we want to pack sand. He picked offence and said why did I call him, that ‘don’t I know I am a wizard? And that he was bearing gudge against me and that he will kill me and run away.

“He went and carried bottle and broke it, he came and stabbed me. He stabbed me on the neck Tuesday night. This earlier morning, he barged into my house and stabbed me on the head.”

He added that the case has been reported at the Azikiwe Police Division.
