A man’s post on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked widespread controversy after he advised men to limit their partners’ freedom, describing it as a form of protection rather than control.
In the viral post, he encouraged men to ensure that their female partners seek their approval in several areas of life. He mentioned decisions such as how a woman dresses, what she shares online, when she works extra hours, when she goes out, when she returns home, and even whose opinions she listens to.
According to him, giving a woman “100% freedom” could lead to self-destruction and potentially harm the relationship. He urged men to either learn from others who have suffered due to such freedom or face similar consequences themselves.
The statement quickly generated heated reactions online. While some users supported his view, arguing that it reflects guidance and structure in relationships, many others criticized it as controlling and rooted in misogyny.
Relationship experts have cautioned that promoting dependency and restricting a partner’s autonomy can damage trust and foster resentment. They emphasize that healthy relationships are built on mutual respect, open communication, and shared understanding — not control.
