Man reverses 50 Cedis gift to hungry lady, after claiming the money is too small for her

A young Ghanaian man has sparked conversations online after reversing a 50 cedis (N5K) transfer to a lady who belittled the amount he sent to her for food.

The woman had contacted the man, complaining that she was hungry and had only had tea all day, according to a social media conversation.

“I still haven’t eaten anything proper fr. I just drank tea…I’m not even lying…but it’s funny,” she pleaded in the chat.Concerned about her situation, the man sent her 50 Ghana cedes, or about 5,000 Nigerian naira, in the hopes of receiving gratitude.

Instead of expressing gratitude for the gift, the woman claimed that the amount was insufficient, claiming that she had anticipated receiving at least 150 cedis.

“I’m so sorry about this but I wouldn’t get any proper food to buy at 50 cedis. I should have told you…unless 80 and above. That’s why I said campus is expensive and especially my hostel. I’m sorry, thought you will send like 100 or 150,” she lamented.

Disturbed by her response, the man called his bank to request that the transfer be reversed, and his request was approved.

@its_danialves: My late dad would say it is better a thief robs you at home than to give something to an ungrateful person.

Those words have stuck with me for life.

@mannlikedab: “I wouldn’t get any proper food” healthy poor woman

@Omoiyaagbaa: This is one of the reasons why I don’t input my PIN before I will tell you I sent you money., ” I have sent you 20k ” if you don’t appreciate it or your reply doesn’t come as I expected I will just stop replying you. But if you appreciate it I will continue with the transaction.

@NotSoPopular: The guy even emptied his account for her, I despise
People with entitlement spirit.

This reversal stuff should be implemented in Nigeria

@fortunateozuyak: A beggar with a choice

@khenni_saint: I dey very sure that 50 cedis go buy noodles and egg or any decent meal.
