Recently, a Nigerian man posted screenshots of a conversation in which a woman requested 30% of his monthly salary before she would even consider dating him.
It caught him off guard because it included a screenshot of the woman’s message, which was posted on the social media site X (formerly Twitter).
She wrote that in order for them to have a romantic relationship, he must give her 30% of his monthly salary—not including gifts and presents.
Her message read: “You’ll pay me 30% of your income each month. This is minus gifts and presents… After this payment, we will do everything lovers do, no exceptions. I’ll be waiting for your positive response.”
The post quickly went viral, with many users flooding the comments section to express their opinions on the matter.
