On Thursday, a man who has not been named was saved from committing suicide at a lagoon in Lagos state.
He had attempted to dive off the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge into the lagoon, but was saved by onlookers.
The man was restrained by bystanders in a video that was posted on Twitter as they begged him not to jump into the lagoon.
In an effort to jump into the lagoon, the man clung to the bridge railing.
People were asked to “hold him” back from committing suicide by the person behind the camera.
As he was assisted in leaving the bridge, the unnamed man was sobbing.
The Lagos police command has repeatedly stopped residents from committing suicide on Third Mainland Brigde.
