According to reports, a Nigerian man paid millions of naira for a fully furnished apartment in Ikoyi for a woman he met on Facebook, only for her to move in with her boyfriend.
This was made public in a widely shared post on X (formerly Twitter) by a user going by the handle @SirDavidBent.
He claimed that the man, who had just begun dating her on Facebook, made the decision to rent her an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos, a desirable neighborhood.
In addition to paying the rent for the next two years up front, he also furnished the space to his taste.
He was shocked to learn, however, that the woman had moved into the apartment with her real boyfriend, whom she had purportedly presented as her brother.
Even though the man was giving, she kept taking money from him while remaining with her real partner.
“I know someone who rented an apartment in Ikoyi, furnished it & paid two years rent in advance for a lady he recently met on Facebook,” the post read.
“The babe moved into the apartment with her real boyfriend (claimed he was her brother) & kept collecting money from the mumu man.”
“Ordinary kiss, baba no see, till he found out he was being played. 😂”
