A Nigerian man outsmarted kidnappers who demanded ₦1 million ransom after abducting his sister.
Sharing the incident in a series of tweets on X (formerly Twitter), he detailed how the kidnapping unfolded and how he managed to recover part of the ransom.
According to him, the kidnappers demanded ₦1 million for his sister’s release. Once the money was sent, she was freed.
However, acting quickly, he froze the account the ransom was transferred to before the kidnappers could withdraw everything.
While they had already taken ₦600,000, he was able to freeze the remaining ₦400,000.
Recounting the ordeal, he wrote: “My sister was kidnapped. They demanded a ₦1 million ransom, which we sent, but we managed to freeze the account after her release.”
“Unfortunately, they withdrew ₦600,000 before we could act. She also suffered injuries from them hitting her with a hammer.”
Following her release, he expressed gratitude, saying: “Thank God for provision and protection. Imagine if we didn’t have the money—you can only imagine what would have happened.”
