A man in Abuja has been left in disbelief after a young woman, identified as Precious Chinyere, allegedly absconded with his car and other personal belongings following a hotel stay in the Asokoro district.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Thursday, February 5, 2026, after the man invited Precious for a short stay at a local hotel. What was meant to be a brief visit reportedly took an unexpected turn later that evening when the woman left the hotel room without informing him.
By the time the man realized what had happened, several of his valuables were missing. Items allegedly taken include his vehicle, mobile phones, a laptop, and other personal belongings.
The situation was reported to the police the following morning. Confirming the development, SP Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the Abuja Police Command, stated that the matter is currently under investigation.
According to her, police authorities have launched efforts to track down the suspect and recover the stolen items. She also urged members of the public with useful information regarding the suspect or her whereabouts to come forward and assist law enforcement.
Meanwhile, the incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users describing it as a shocking betrayal. Others have warned residents to exercise greater caution when meeting or lodging with people they barely know.
