Drama has unfolded online after a man allegedly deleted his company’s Instagram account, which had amassed over 400,000 followers, following a disagreement with his manager.
The incident was shared by @Iyelolage on X (formerly Twitter), who claimed to be a close associate of the man involved.
According to the post, the man had spent over two years building and managing the company’s Instagram presence. Trouble reportedly began when he approached his manager to request an official promotion to content manager, along with a salary increase.
However, the manager declined the request, allegedly stating that his expectations were unrealistic. It was also revealed that the content manager role was already occupied by the manager’s daughter.
Following the rejection, events quickly escalated. Narrating what happened next, @Iyelolage wrote:
“He went back to his desk, deleted the entire account—400,000 followers gone. Submitted his resignation and disappeared. The company sent police to his house. He was nowhere to be found.”
The story has since gone viral, drawing widespread reactions from social media users, many of whom expressed mixed opinions on the situation.
