A Nigerian man has taken to social media to protest that the Nigerian Army broke into his brand-new, multimillion-naira home in Benin, Edo State, damaging the fully furnished structure and destroying the fence.
In a video posted to TikTok, the man, who was clearly upset, said he was just a young man trying to make ends meet when uniformed men showed up with sledgehammers and destroyed some of his property.
“See the house I just finished building. They destroyed the fence and broke the building,” he said. “As a young boy trying to make something out of life, the Nigerian Army came and demolished my house.”
He further alleged that the soldiers bypassed other houses in the area and targeted his property specifically, leaving him confused and heartbroken. “How will anyone cope in this country?” he asked.
The video has since sparked widespread reactions online, with concerned Nigerians flooding the comment section to express sympathy and outrage.
