Man arrested for stealing 600,000 TV days after being pardoned by Governor Adeleke for stealing chicken

Sunday Omisakin, a Nigerian who was pardoned by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, was remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Facility for allegedly breaking into a house and taking a TV valued at ₦600,000. This is just eight days after he was pardoned for stealing chicken.

Omisakin, who was pardoned for a minor offense, was ranked number eight on the governor’s prerogative of mercy list, which was signed on December 26, 2024.

However, he was taken into custody on January 3, 2025, on suspicion of breaking into a home in Osogbo and taking the television.

The suspect was charged with two counts of burglary and theft in front of Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba of the Osun State Magistrate Court in Osogbo.

Omisakin is currently being held pending additional court proceedings.
