Man accuses network provider of breach of contract over 5G router purchase, no data access

After acquiring a 5G router and not receiving data even after payment confirmation, a Nigerian man has accused a well-known network provider of violating their contract.

He was instructed not to file a formal complaint for 24 hours.

The man, who was frustrated by what he called a poor choice in buying the 5G router, shared his experience on X, the former name for Twitter.

He claimed in his post that after purchasing the router, he signed up for a network subscription and got payment confirmations from the provider and their payment platform, but the router was unable to connect to the internet.

After reaching out to customer service, he was told that he needed to wait a full day before he could lodge a complaint.

Infuriated by the circumstance, he took to social media to express his annoyance and charge the network provider with violating their service contract.

In his words: “I think I made a very horrible decision buying this Airtel 5G Router. I tried subscribing to the router yesterday, and after the payment was made, I received a receipt from Paystack. Not long after, Airtel confirmed the payment.”

To my utter shock and disbelief, the router did not provide data for my gadgets. I made a complaint, and Airtel is asking me to wait for 24 hours before I can complain. LMAOOOO.”

I mean, you can easily track the payment and escalate the issue to your payment platform.”

“24 hours will be up by 9 PM today. I really hope the router starts working before then, and the unnecessary delay is addressed.

“@AirtelNigeria, if by any chance my router doesn’t work within the estimated period, you will have me to deal with for non-provision of the service I paid for and breach of contract.”

I will not say more than that.”
