A young man in Eket, Eket, is reportedly nursing serious injuries after he was allegedly gang-beaten by his girlfriend and four of her friends over a messy love triangle.
The victim, believed to be in his early 20s, had been dating a young lady while secretly starting a relationship with one of her close friends.
How It Happened
Trouble reportedly began when his main girlfriend, who had travelled for festivities, returned home and discovered that her boyfriend had been seeing her friend behind her back.
Angry and hurt by the betrayal, she allegedly plotted to confront him and “teach him a lesson.” According to reports, she enlisted four of her friends, and the group allegedly attacked the young man.
The incident reportedly left him with serious injuries, highlighting how personal conflicts arising from complicated relationships can spiral into violence.
