Lady Warns Women Against Sleeping Naked After Terrifying Robbery Experience

A Nigerian lady has triggered massive reactions online after recounting a terrifying experience that led her to warn women against sleeping naked.

The story was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @Dfw_Beeee, who narrated how a seemingly minor decision on her birthday night may have saved her from sexual assault.

According to her post, the incident occurred on the night of her birthday. She explained that she usually sleeps naked but chose to wear a nightgown that particular night because she had been receiving birthday video calls from friends and loved ones.

Please don’t. I usually sleep naked, but that very night I wore a nightgown because I was doing video calls with people calling to wish me on my birthday,” she wrote.

That decision, she believes, turned out to be crucial.

She revealed that armed robbers broke into her boyfriend’s house around midnight after she had already fallen asleep. She was jolted awake by loud banging noises, only to realize that intruders had gained access to the house.

Robbers broke into my boyfriend’s house that midnight after I slept. I was woken with a loud banging noise and they were inside,” she stated.

As the attackers moved around the house, the situation quickly became tense and dangerous. The lady disclosed that she was slapped hard simply for making eye contact with one of the intruders.

Even more disturbing, she said one of the men approached her in a threatening manner before being stopped by another individual she believed was their leader.

“I was given a dirty slap for looking them in the eyes. One of them moved to me and he was told to leave me alone by the person I think might be their boss,” she added.

Reflecting on the incident, she expressed fear over what could have happened if she had been naked at the time.

Imagine if I was naked, he would have raped me. In fact, all of them. Please don’t sleep naked!!!!!”

Her post has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many users expressing sympathy, sharing similar experiences, and debating personal safety measures—while others emphasized that responsibility always lies with criminals, not victims.
