A Nigerian lady has been left heartbroken after spending her own money to renovate an uncompleted building, only for the landlady to rent the newly upgraded shop to another tenant.
According to the story shared by @bimsextension on TikTok, the lady had spotted the uncompleted structure in what she believed was a perfect business location.
With hope and excitement, she approached the landlady and requested permission to turn the space into a functional shop.
The landlady reportedly approved the renovation. The structure had no roof and was far from usable, but the lady took it upon herself to fund every stage of the makeover.
She worked on it for several weeks and invested a sizeable amount to make it look like a proper shop.
However, things didn’t go as she expected. After finishing the work, she realized the landlady had rented the shop to another tenant for a bigger amount.
The video showing the renovated shop and the lady’s disappointment has sparked reactions on TikTok, with many users calling the landlady’s action unfair and exploitative.
The clip shared online shows the finished shop and the lady lamenting how her investment ended up benefiting someone else entirely.
