A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after sharing her perspective on divorce and the type of advice some divorcees give about marriage.
In a viral video circulating on social media, she criticized certain divorced women for discouraging others from getting married. According to her, some of these individuals may have played a role in the collapse of their own marriages yet go online to speak negatively about the institution.
She pointed out that it is uncommon to see divorced men publicly advising others to avoid marriage, contrasting this with what she described as a trend among some women who share discouraging views after leaving their relationships.
The lady further cautioned people to be mindful of the kind of advice they consume online, noting that such opinions are often shaped by personal experiences, emotions, or unresolved bitterness.
In her words:
“You can never see a divorced man coming out to advise other men not to get married and telling them that marriage is no good. No! But you see all these condemned women, when it be sey dem don comot for marriage and even the ones wey be say nah them even cause of divorce. You go see them boom. They don set camera. Dey advice you say ‘Marriage no good’ make you comot looking for people where they go recruit enter streets and you go dey fall victims. Be guided…”
