A lady on X (formerly Twitter) has shared her unusual encounter with a man who sent her ₦500,000 for a flight ticket to Abuja.
The X user, @ARIAREIGN180683, revealed that she met the man on Snapchat after he reached out to her through a direct message (DM) when he saw her story.
According to her, the man invited her to visit him in Abuja. She initially declined the invitation but later agreed after he kept insisting.
She explained that the man subsequently sent her ₦500,000 to cover her flight expenses to Abuja. However, things took an unexpected turn when he allegedly failed to show up two days after making the arrangement.
Narrating what happened afterward, she wrote:
“I didn’t show up. He asked me why and I told him something came up so I used part of the money. I thought he’d get the message to use his common sense to know I’m not interested but no, he sent another 400k for me to complete it. I still didn’t show up. He started calling and texting so I blocked him.”
The lady also shared an audio recording capturing part of their argument over the money sent for the flight.
According to her, the man later reached out again about two months after sending the ₦500,000, which eventually led to her blocking him completely.
The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating the situation and sharing differing opinions about the encounter.
