A Nigerian woman has taken to TikTok to share her unsettling story about an inDrive driver who allegedly threatened and physically attacked her after she corrected him about the way to her house.
The woman explained in the video posted to her TikTok page that she requested a ride to her home, and an inDrive driver obliged.
She saw the driver was going the wrong way during the trip and gently pointed it out to him.
After a while, the driver changed course and went in the direction she offered.
But things became heated when they reached a section of the road where the driver started to yell and insist there was nowhere to turn.
The woman insisted that there was, and that he just did not know the place.
She claims that the driver became hostile, took offense, and demanded that she exit the car.
She stated: “I booked a ride from inDrive to my house. On the way, I noticed the driver was passing a wrong route. I told him this is not the way to my house. I said he doesn’t know the road, that there’s a turning there, but he kept arguing and told me to get down.”
She went on to say that even though she had not arrived at her destination, the driver stopped her on the freeway and insisted she get off.
As she stepped out and tried to retrieve her belongings, the driver allegedly reversed while the door was still open, hitting her and threatening to kill her.
“This man reversed, the door hit me, and he threatened to kill me. I had to run away. He was saying he would slap me,” she said.
In the caption of her TikTok post, she added: “This inDrive driver, Deji, reversed and almost ran over me while the door was open and my things were still in the car! Just because I told him he was passing the wrong route to my house. @inDrive, do better! Stop employing sad and frustrated people!”
Her story has sparked outrage online, with many users tagging the ride-hailing platform and demanding swift action.
