A Nigerian lady has gone viral on social media after sharing a shocking experience she had while washing second-hand clothes, popularly known as okirika.
The TikToker, identified as @Thriftbalesinibadan, revealed that she had just taken delivery of cotton blouses and denim dresses. According to her, she usually does not wash her new arrivals, but decided to rinse these particular items—an action that led to an unexpected discovery.
While washing a cotton blouse, she noticed a large scorpion inside the water.
“I’ve never seen a scorpion that big in my entire life. I’ve rinsed two clothes out of that water before I noticed it,” she recounted.
Describing the moment further, she explained that the items were just simple cotton pieces. “It’s only cotton dress and blouse o, you know when you rinse them it gives them that ironed effect,” she added.
The incident has since triggered widespread reactions online, with many expressing shock and relief that she was not stung.
One user, @FMJ_Closet, wrote, “Thank God for life, may the Lord keep protecting us 🙏.”
