Lady cries out as recipient refuses to return N800k mistakenly sent to her

A young Nigerian woman accidentally transferred N800,000 to an unidentified person who allegedly refused to return the money, so she turned to social media to ask for assistance.

The woman, who goes by the handle @ii_kach on X (formerly Twitter), vented her frustration and emotional distress over the unsuccessful transaction on social media. Because of an input error, she claims the money was accidentally transferred from her Union Bank account to a GTBank account.

“Please help me😭😭. I’m losing my mind 😭😭. I mistakenly sent 800,000 naira to a wrong account number (GTB BANK). I sent it from my Union Bank. I’ve been to GTB bank to make complaint and I was told that the account cannot be put on hold,” she wrote.

Despite her prompt action to report the incident, her efforts to recover the money have so far been unsuccessful. In a follow-up post, she revealed that GTBank was able to contact the recipient of the funds, but the individual blatantly refused to return the money and had allegedly begun spending it.

“The bank has reached out to the recipient and she refused to send the money back. She has also started spending the money 😭😭,” @ii_kach lamented.
