A young Nigerian lady has marked the first anniversary of her survival after battling cancer, which led to the amputation of her left leg.
Taking to the X platform, @bidemi_akins reflected on the life-changing moment of February 16, 2023, when she lost her leg while fighting to stay alive.
Sharing a then-and-now comparison—one photo taken after her surgery and another from a recent photoshoot—she expressed deep gratitude to God for granting her a second chance at life.
“One year ago today, I lost my leg to cancer. The enemy’s plan was not just for me to lose my leg, but for me to be buried. But today, I stand as proof that God is not done with me, that His mercy speaks louder than any verdict of the enemy. Thank you, Lord Jesus 🙌,” she wrote.
Her inspiring testimony has since resonated with many online, with users flooding the comment section to celebrate her strength, resilience, and unwavering faith.

@brooks_lau2074: Praise God! When I was a kid. My dad had to have his leg amputated. He didn’t let it stop him from doing anything. He had six kids to support. He never stopped working. He could drive a standard vehicle. He even bowled on a league while on crutches. His biggest accomplishment was teaching us about Jesus. He was a great inspiration. I know you will be one too! God Bless ❤️🙏
