A young Nigerian lady has marked the first anniversary of her survival after battling cancer, which led to the amputation of her left leg.
Taking to the X platform, @bidemi_akins reflected on the life-changing moment of February 16, 2023, when she lost her leg while fighting to stay alive.
Sharing a then-and-now comparison—one photo taken after her surgery and another from a recent photoshoot—she expressed deep gratitude to God for granting her a second chance at life.
“One year ago today, I lost my leg to cancer. The enemy’s plan was not just for me to lose my leg, but for me to be buried. But today, I stand as proof that God is not done with me, that His mercy speaks louder than any verdict of the enemy. Thank you, Lord Jesus ,” she wrote.
Her inspiring testimony has since resonated with many online, with users flooding the comment section to celebrate her strength, resilience, and unwavering faith.

@brooks_lau2074: Praise God! When I was a kid. My dad had to have his leg amputated. He didn’t let it stop him from doing anything. He had six kids to support. He never stopped working. He could drive a standard vehicle. He even bowled on a league while on crutches. His biggest accomplishment was teaching us about Jesus. He was a great inspiration. I know you will be one too! God Bless
