A Nigerian lady broke down in tears after an ATM seized her card, only for her to discover that over ₦240,000 had been debited from her account just 20 minutes after leaving the bank.
An incident that allegedly happened at a bank in Festac, Lagos, was shared on X (formerly Twitter) in a post that went viral.
A voice in the accompanying video said the woman had tried to take out cash, but the machine had kept her card.
She went to the bank right away to report the problem, and she was told to come back the next Monday to get her card.
But less than half an hour after she left, she got several debit alerts for more than ₦240,000.
The viral post read: “A lady came to Festac to withdraw money, but the ATM seized her card. She was told to come back on Monday to retrieve it. Shockingly, not up to 30 minutes after she left, her account was debited multiple times.”
