A Nigerian lady has gone viral after sharing a shocking experience from the height of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, when strict interstate travel bans were enforced across the country.
The lady, known as @queen_babie on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that she defied the restrictions to visit her then-boyfriend, who lived in another state.
According to her narration, things quickly went south when she was apprehended by security operatives for violating the interstate travel ban. While in distress, she tried reaching her boyfriend multiple times, but he blatantly ignored her calls and messages—even when she used different phone numbers.
“My man wasn’t taking my calls. Texted him on WhatsApp with someone else’s phone, he read and ignored the message… called him with different numbers which he ended once he heard my voice,” she recounted.
In an unexpected twist, a kind stranger and his family reportedly came to her rescue and bailed her out. Despite the ordeal—and the clear signs from her boyfriend—she still chose to continue her journey to see him.
