The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) inaugurated a project to drill 6 solar-powered medium-depth water wells in Kwara State in Nigeria, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
This project, signed on Thursday in cooperation with a civil society organization, will benefit 30,000 individuals. Each well will be at least 80 meters deep, and will be equipped with tanks of 5000 liters capacity.
The beneficiaries expressed their sincere gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, for this vital project that will help in meeting their water needs.
This project comes in line with humanitarian and relief projects undertaken by the KSrelief to support the water sector and create a healthy environment in countries in need.
KSrelief is Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian arm. It aims to alleviate the suffering of crisis-afflicted communities and people in need in many countries across the world by providing various forms of relief and humanitarian aid.
Since 2015, KSrelief has reached 98 countries, implementing 2,829 humanitarian and relief projects worth more than $6 billion, in cooperation with 175 local, regional and international partners.
These projects focus on vital sectors such as food, education, health, nutrition, water, environmental sanitation, and shelter, benefiting millions of people in need in target countries without discrimination.
