President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas has announced that contrary to widespread reports, popular actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo is not dead.
The actor was earlier reported to have died in a boat accident, but in a statement on Wednesday evening, Rollas said Junior Pope is still alive.
Taking to his Instagram page, the AGN President disclosed that the father of three was receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
He wrote; “What God cannot do does not exist. Junior Pope is alive. He is taking treatment in the hospital.”
Recall that filmmaker, Sam Olatunji announced on Wednesday that seasoned thespian and filmmaker, Junior Pope Odonwodo died in a boat mishap in Anambra state.
It was gathered that the 39-year-old actor and three of his colleagues were coming back from a movie location in a boat when they fell into Anam River.
On the morning of April 10, Junior Pope had shared a video on his Instagram page showing him aboard a boat and praying frantically to arrive at his destination safely.
The accident was said to have happened while the crew were returning from the location. Bodies of the drown victims have since been recovered. Junior Pope is survived by his wife and three children.
