Daddy Freeze, a Nigerian media personality, has responded to the testimony of the sole survivor of a building collapse in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Expressing gratitude to God when others have died, in his opinion, is a selfish act.
Rather than testifying, the survivor should have been mourning the loss of their colleagues.
The survivor’s behavior, according to Daddy Freeze, was also indicative of a primitive and selfish mentality.
He was taken aback by the idea of a survivor testifying when ten other people died in the same incident.
“10 people lose their lives in a collapsed building and the one person who survives gives testimony? Really?
“This is NOT a testimony! Rather, it’s a manifestation of our innate caveman mentality, built on the foundations of greed and selfishness. Would the early churches in Antioch or Jerusalem have approved such a ‘testimony’? Instead, it should be a time of mourning for the lives lost. ~FRZ.” He wrote.

Just_tomsin: I totally agree with this. Nigerians seize every opportunity to make themselves look like God’s favorite people and then they use same mouth to call him “impartial and just God”
Kelechi_everything: Nothing wrong in being grateful for being alive
Kaniwithgrace: The person was thanking God for saving his or her life. That does not mean he was not sorrowful for the ones that died.God says in all things we should give thanks to God for that is his will concerning that situation.giving testimony is thanking God
Uchennaji: As much as the living is entitled to be grateful for having their lives spared, Sober reflection should ought to have kicked in after realizing that their co-workers and friends have died in same space they could have died. But a church approving such testimony is a reflection of the warped mentality of “ I beta pass my neigbour” that the larger society puts on a pedestal #WeCanDoBetter💔
Bbs_collections_and_more: With due respect sir,for instance I survived an auto crash in which seven or more people died in that, will I not thank God or whatever I believe in for sparing my life? Of course I will, everyone to his or her fate…am sure he’s not happy the others died,if they were Alive they will thank God as well, everyone to his or her own fate and destiny………there’s nothing wrong in giving a testimony in church..if na u sef,I dey very sure say u go thank yeshua
Roygogan: The church doesn’t need to approve the testimony, it is an acceptable testimony for life that survived the power of wasters and it’s acceptable to God,because the Bible says “give thanks in all things” Yes, some people lost their lives, if they had been destined to survive, of course, they would,at the same time, the church would pray for the repose of their souls, and at the same time, thank God for their lives.No-one should condemn the church in the circumstance.Thank you.
Peace_elims: i couldn’t agree more. its okay to be grateful in private but publicly talking about it like the people whose lives were lost didn’t matter is purely selfish.
Edistimable: I have had this sentiment for a long time. This same person if the other ten people was their family would they give testimony
