Influencer mocks Nigerian banks after UK bank sends him £50 for ‘just banking with them’

A Nigerian influencer has mocked Nigerian banks after his UK bank informed him that he would receive £50 simply for banking with them.

He shared the news on his X page (formerly Twitter), revealing that the bank would credit him without requiring any action on his part.

He also noted that millions of other customers would receive the same benefit without going through any hurdles or processes.

In his post, @Wizarab wrote: “My bank in the UK is sending me £50 next month as a thank-you for banking with them. I don’t have to do anything. They will credit me next month. £50 each to over 12 million Nationwide users—that’s over £600 million. Thank you.”

Taking a swipe at Nigerian banks, he criticized them for prioritizing deductions over customer benefits.

“Nigerian banks are only good at collecting card maintenance and account maintenance fees while declaring huge profits,” he added.

His statement sparked reactions online as social media users flooded the comment section to share their opinions.
