“In Nigeria, there is genuine hostility toward Igbos” – Pere

Pere Egbi, a reality star, has taken to Facebook to express his displeasure with the amount of hatred directed at Igbos in Nigeria.

Pere revealed in a tweet seen on his page that someone in politics once told him that an Igbo could never be president of Nigeria.

 He lamented how other tribes use social media to bully Igbos. while emphasizing that the majority of these bullies are Nigerian politicians in high positions.

He said on Twitter, “The hate against the Igbos in Nigeria is real. I AM NOT even Igbo or Yoruba or Hausa and I feel for them. Someone who is in politics once told me that “an Igbo person can never rule Nigeria”. If say Jesus no hold my right hand that day, I for slap am.”

“Online I see lots of hate toward the Igbo tribe. This is coming from people within the political space. We have a serious problem in Nigeria and we need to be honest about it and face it head on. This is unfair.”

@MissPearls: Very very unfortunate situation!!

@AmozBigbro: Firstly, the Igbo elites hate themselves more out of jealousy.  The last presidential election said it all .. Most of them were not in support of PO . The hatred was well felt. Dear Igbo elites, put ur house in order first..

@Stephzax: Yoruba hate themselves too

@cuppydat: A belief they are proud to say out in public. No consequences

@MgrAyuba: Even the Igbos are the problems to themselves… Imagine me, Edo Man and Muslim supporting Peter Obi, his people turned back against him…. It’s only God intervention that PO will rule Nigeria.
