“I Will Not Be Cajoled Into Accepting Polygamy” May Edochie says in response to her husband’s public apology

The first wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, May Edochie, has declared that she will not be pressured into polygamy as a result of her husband’s public apology for his marriage to Judy Austin.

As previously reported by VisioTalks, Yul Edochie wrote a heartfelt apology to May on his Instagram page on December 21, 2022, emphasizing how much he had hurt her and how he accepted responsibility for his actions.

Yul claims that although he has repeatedly apologized to his wife and agreed that polygamy should not be forced upon anyone, taking a second wife was never done in an effort to belittle her.

The actor continued by saying that he had been a good father and had given May everything she needed; as a result, he begged her to let go of the past so they could live happily and peacefully.

May responded to her husband in a lengthy post on her Instagram page, saying that she will not be pressured into accepting polygamy even though it is the highest and most ideal form of love.

I Will Not Be Cajoled

She wrote: “I strongly believe that mistakes are a major part of human existence. It is our response to these errors that count. In other words, forgiveness is one thing, and righting a wrong is another.

“FORGIVENESS is the highest | most beautiful form of love for me. There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love. Hence, my ability to forgive the mistakes of the past, present, and future with respect to the issue on ground is in the interest of my mental health and inner peace.

“I decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear. I am still very much incapable of HATING anyone, let alone the father of my children. The fact remains that anyone can choose to practice POLYGAMY, but can’t be impelled to accept what was never bargained for.”
