A young Nigerian woman has sparked outrage online after recounting an alleged case of police brutality in Ekpan, Warri, Delta State.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the visibly distressed lady claimed she was beaten, handcuffed, verbally abused, and harassed by officers of the Nigerian Police Force during a routine stop.
According to her, the officers used her driver’s license as a pretext to intimidate and assault her.
Fighting back tears in the video, she said:
“Because of my driver’s license, I was beaten up, handcuffed, called all sorts of names, and harassed by Nigerian police officers in Ekpan. I am in serious pain and have been crying since. This is not the first time this has happened to me in Warri.”
Her emotional testimony has reignited public concern over police conduct, especially the treatment of women during routine checks.
Social media users have condemned the alleged actions, with many calling for accountability and urgent reforms within the Nigerian Police Force.
One user wrote, “This is unacceptable. No one should live in fear of those meant to protect them.”
Another added, “It’s time the police are held responsible for abusing citizens’ rights.”
The video continues to circulate online as Nigerians demand justice.
