Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Eti Osa Federal House of Representatives seat, has spoken out for the first time since losing at the polls.
Remember that Thaddeus Attah, a Labour Party candidate, unexpectedly defeated Banky W and won the position?
Banky W posted a video of himself at a Sunday service in which he expressed his displeasure with his election loss.
Banky W revealed in the video that he had made significant preparations for his victory, including plans for a Sunday thanksgiving program, looking for an apartment and office in Abuja, and more.
Despite his disappointment, Banky W stated that his faith in God has given him strength, despite the fact that it is natural to be hurt in such situations.
Banky W also stated that his election loss will not deter him from giving thanks to God, and that he plans to hold the previously scheduled thanksgiving event.
He captioned a snippet of the video on Instagram: “For anyone who’s ever suffered through a loss, a disappointment or a situation where things just didn’t work out the way you hoped… “Faith after a Fall” is for you. When you talked about motion I screamed cause my question since 2023 started has been what does it mean to be STILL, does it mean don’t do anything and wait for me to move? it helps you deal!” Selah @bankywellington …..I think you just put into words what I’ve been trying to explain to people about the day our son passed. We prayed all day, and praised all night in hope that a miracle will happen and he will wake up. However, many months later, I got to understand that God helped us orchestrate that praise session to birth faith that will later help us heal and deal with the loss, Without that praise session that night, I probably wouldn’t have made it, but it did something to our faith and that faith guided us through the healing process.
