“I had no idea the people who came to my bar were police officers,” Portable says after his arrest (video)

The Ogun State Police Command arrested singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, after he refused to accept the police’s offer.

On Friday, March 31, the Zazoo singer was apprehended after the 72-hour deadline set by the Ogun State police command expired.

On March 28th, videos of Portable evading capture and verbally abusing police officers went viral.

The police then gave him a 72-hour deadline to report to the nearest police station or face arrest on Friday.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, commented on the development and confirmed that the singer had been detained and was currently being held at the state police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi went on to say that Portable was detained after declining five offers.

It was also revealed that the performer will be held by authorities until Monday, April 3, when he will face legal charges.

While being questioned in custody, the singer claimed that he had no idea the people who came to his bar to arrest him were police officers.
