Gov. Fintiri adopts the N175 billion 2023 budget

The budget for the fiscal year 2023 has been signed into law by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State.

Following its approval by the Adamawa State House of Assembly earlier in the month, he gave his assent to the N175 billion budget on Friday.

Chief Crowther Seth, the deputy governor, and Pwamakeino Mackondo, the deputy speaker of the Assembly, attended the event at Government House in Yola.

Fintiri gave the state House of Assembly the same-amount appropriation bill for the fiscal year 2023 on November 25. The House of Assembly worked on the bill without making any significant changes and passed it on December 21. It was then sent back to the governor for his approval.

60% of the budget, or N105 billion, is designated for recurrent expenses, and 40%, or N70 billion, is designated for capital expenses.

The construction of a super highway from the Yola entrance gate, along the Yola-Numan Road, to Yola town through Yolde-Pate is among the new projects that will be launched as part of the “Budget of Consolidation,” according to the government.
