Glitch in JAMB CBT Could be a Cybercrime

Oloyede’s exemplary leadership template

I have just read the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015 again. It contains so many crimes or offences relating to the obtaining and management of computer data and operation of computer networks. They are so many that it is difficult to believe that even a single crime was not committed in the JAMB computer mess. I believe that a criminal investigation is called for.

Everything is being blamed on an unknown contractor. Who is that contractor? How could you forget to update systems that served an entire region? What classification brought Lagos and the South East together under the same channel? If the error was detected and fixed when the exams were still ongoing in batches, why did JAMB publish results that it knew were faulty with regard to those who had taken the exams before the fault was rectified? Why did JAMB keep quiet about it? Why did they initially try to shutdown parents and students who complained initially? Why was it necessary for Alex Onyia to go the distance of obtaining a court order to compel JAMB to allow an audit of its systems?

The information from Alex Onyia is that he noticed this trend of unusual failure of JAMB candidates from the South East as far back as 2023? Is that observation correct? For how long has this thing been going on? What other parts of the country have been affected in previous exercises?

It is said that about 393k students were affected out of a total 1.9m, which is about 25% of the total. It is also said that despite this, the results objectively retained consistency in percentage failure. How could results that were impacted up to a quarter retain consistency with previous results? There are so many questions that need answers. The gaslighting should cut no ice. We should get to the bottom of this. What was the origin of this error? Has it happened before?
