A young Nigerian man goes viral after sharing his unorthodox method of approaching women for a date, which he says helps weed out uninterested people.
The concept, first proposed by X user @chinedu_10, is to give women his phone number rather than requesting theirs.
Chinedu stressed that although he does not work as a relationship coach, the approach has been successful in creating deep connections.
“When I meet a lady who catches my eye, I don’t ask for her number. Instead, I give her mine and tell her to text me. It’s not about being proud or forming an ‘alpha male’; it’s about respecting my time. If she doesn’t text, I’ve saved myself from wasting time on something that wouldn’t work out. Trust me, this works!” he stated.
Encouraged by the idea, another X user, @Yorubatoast1, decided to test the method on a woman he admired during their daily bus commute.
Rather than asking her for her phone number, he gave her a handwritten note with his number on it.
Hours later, he was delighted to receive a text from the woman, which started a lively and humorous conversation. The conversation gave him hope for this simple but successful strategy.
Sharing an update on his experience, he wrote:
“I decided to try this method yesterday, and it actually works, guys. Don’t let Twitter women gaslight you; give out your number instead. If she’s interested, she’ll message you.”
