Nollywood has been in mourning since the death of actress Gbemi Anjola, 33.
The rising actress died on Friday, March 24, 2023, after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
Gbemi was diagnosed with the disease in 2021, according to reports. As a result, she traveled to Dubai, UAE, for chemotherapy, which lasted approximately 6 months.
She returned to Nigeria cancer-free after receiving medical treatment in Dubai, but on Friday, March 25, 2023, Gbemi complained of memory loss and a headache and was rushed to the hospital.
Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead by on-duty doctors.
Itele and Zainab Balogun, colleagues who mourned her on their Instagram pages, broke the news of her tragic death.
Nollywood stars such as Nkechi Blessing, Kunle Afod, and Biodun Okeowo have also expressed their condolences in the comments section.
