A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after lamenting that the house she rented has brought her nothing but losses since she moved in.
In a viral TikTok video shared by @exellency_sky, she revealed that she initially rented the house for ₦15 million, but the rent was later increased to ₦20 million after she moved in. She claims that her life has never been the same since.
“When I moved into this compound, I came with 10 cars. Now I have only one car. Can you imagine?” she said. She went on to blame what she described as envious neighbors, insisting that the house itself brings bad luck. “This house doesn’t have luck. Anybody that comes into this house, even if you come with plenty money, will leave with nothing,” she added.
Her story has stirred mixed reactions online. Some sympathized with her losses, while others questioned whether misfortune can truly be tied to a house or if life circumstances simply change over time.
One commentator wrote, “From 10 cars to one? That one pain me for you.” Another said, “This is why I don’t like staying where too many people dey.”

@Attalili Attagazuti:If you can afford a 20m rent per annum…i see no reason why you cant buy ur own house. Sell those cars and buy a house even if it is 50m. Ur financial advisers need to do better

@Hadiza sule Buba:But with the sum of 20million or 50ml you supposed to buy a house of your own.. and if you have houses of yours you supposed to be in one of yours
