The Ph.D holder, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @Engrbrimmy, disclosed that while checking his payslip in 2024, he burst into tears upon realizing he was earning only ₦133,000 per month.
He added that the amount was after deductions for accommodation, electricity, and water expenses.
“I looked at my payslip (with Ph.D) from when I was a Lecturer at Covenant University and I started crying. Man was legit earning 133k WITH A Ph.D,” the tweet read.
The tweet has since gone viral, amassing over 800,000 views and sparking heated discussions across X.
