A fresh controversy involving Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has ignited heated debate across social media following his response to a young girl’s claim that he is her biological father.
The situation gained attention after a social media user, The_Bearded_DrSina, shared the girl’s photo online, stating that a daughter requesting a DNA test from her alleged father would deeply affect any man emotionally.
Davido, however, reacted strongly, dismissing the claim and denying any romantic involvement with the girl’s mother. In a series of posts, the singer insisted that multiple DNA tests had already been conducted and accused the woman of harassment, urging her to stop involving him.
When another user, Elizabeth, questioned whether he knew the girl’s mother, Davido maintained that he had never met her outside the DNA testing process. He further criticised her actions, describing the situation as irresponsible and insisting that the child was not to blame.
Social media commentator Daniel Regha later weighed in, expressing skepticism over Davido’s explanation. Regha questioned why the singer would reportedly undergo five DNA tests with someone he claims never to have met before, describing the situation as unusual.
He added that if the woman’s claim is false, legal action should be taken, while also emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility. Regha concluded by expressing sympathy for the young girl, whom he described as the innocent party caught in the middle of the dispute.
The controversy continues to generate intense reactions online, with many Nigerians divided over Davido’s response and the broader implications of the ongoing paternity claims.
