Police in Ogun State have apprehended the suspected killers of a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) staffer, Kehinde Fatinoye, and his wife, Bukola.
The Fatinoyes were allegedly murdered in the early morning hours of January 1, just after returning from a crossover church service.
Mrs. Fatinoye, a Principal Confidential Secretary at the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta until her death, was killed and burned alongside her husband by their assailants.
Their only son, Oreoluwa, who was driven away by the suspects, was later discovered dead inside the Ogun River along the Obada-Adigbe road.
Remember that the Fatinoyes’ driver, Lekan Adekanbi, was initially arrested as the only suspect in the incident, but he escaped from police custody when he was taken to the hospital and pretended to faint.
However, according to police sources, he was re-arrested alongside his co-conspirators in the case.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police spokesman in Ogun, confirmed the arrest on Thursday, saying that all suspects involved in the Fatinoyes’ murder had been apprehended and promising to provide more details later.
